Historic Westville a living history museum
1836 Creek Indian War Re-enactment

Lumpkin, GA (April 22, 2008) Attack on Westville! Put on your war paint and straighten your feathers, or grab your gun and powder horn, the battle is on. This living history week-end depicts the Creek Indian War of 1836 with Creek Indians and militia soldiers swarming the grounds of Westville. There will be skirmishes between soldiers and Indians on Saturday, May 24 at 12:30 and 3:30 and Sunday, May 25, at 2:30 EST.

Based on actual events that took place at the town of Roanoke in Stewart County in 1836, this re-enactment offers a chance to learn about some of the last Indian battles in Georgia.

Westville’s Kiser House Restaurant will be open to get a bite to eat or take a little rest. Also be sure to save time to shop at the museum store for a great souvenir of your visit or a unique gift for family or friends.

Westville is located in Lumpkin, just 35 miles south of Columbus, GA off US 27. Hours of operation are 10 AM to 5 PM Tuesday- Saturday. Admission charge: Adults $10, Seniors, Military & College (w/ID) $8 and Children (K-12th Grade) $4
