Benefit for Children of Northwest Georgia
CARTERSVILLE, GA (March 14, 2008) - Advocates for Children is proud to announce the Seventh Annual Duck Derby, “Surf’s Up!” will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008. The Duck Derby is an event where individuals, families, and companies have the opportunity to adopt rubber ducks to race down the Etowah River. Winners will receive prizes that have been donated from businesses both locally and abroad. Aside from the duck race, the event will also include live entertainment, games, a craft fair, food, and the annual “Duck Dash” 5 k run.
The proceeds from the events go to Advocates for Children, a non-profit organization that provides shelter and services that aid in the prevention and awareness of child abuse. Advocates serves 17 counties throughout Northwest, Georgia. The Duck Derby is the largest fundraiser for the organization.
This year’s Duck Derby will take place on May 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Riverside Day Use Area in Cartersville, Georgia.

Outdoor concert at Riverside Day Use Area, featuring Banks and Shane, and presented by Bartow County Bank and Chuck Clancy Automotive Group.

Duck Derby Festival at Riverside Day Use Area. Releasing of the Ducks 2:30 p.m. Winners will be announced at approximately 4:30 p.m.
