Actions Taken by the Residential Division of the Georgia Board of Residential and General Contractors at its March 12-13 Meeting

Macon, Ga. (March 14, 2008) — The Residential Division of the Georgia Board of Residential and General Contractors held special meetings for applicant appearances on Wednesday, March 12 and Thursday, March 13, 2008.

   The Division voted to accept 7 applications that were transferred from the General Contractors Division.

   The Division held 99 appearances for applicants who requested that the Board reconsider the denial of their licenses. The Division overturned and approved 19 applications for licensure and upheld the denial of 17 applications for licensure. The Division will vote on the remaining 63 licenses at the next meeting of the Georgia Board of Residential and General Contractors on Wednesday, March 26, 2008.

   An additional 17 applicants did not attend their scheduled appearances.

   The Georgia Board of Residential and General Contractors will hold its next meeting Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at the Professional Licensing Boards Division in Macon, Georgia.
