April is Filled with Authors at the Carter Library Book Signings and Lectures
Atlanta, GA. (March 24, 2008) - April is a month filled with author lectures and book signings at the Carter Presidential Library. President Jimmy Carter heads the list with an April 23rd signing of his new biography, "A Remarkable Mother,"
about his own mother, Miss Lillian.
Here's a quick look at the schedule.
Sunday, April 6th* 6:30 p.m. Dorothy Allison & Elizabeth Anderson in the Carter Library Theater.
Allison and Anderson discuss Southern writing and sign their work. Free and open to the public.
Monday, April 7th * 7:00 p.m. Adam Clymer in the Carter Library Theater
Former New York Times Washington correspondent Clymer discusses his new book "Drawing the Line at the Big Ditch, The Panama Canal Treaties and the Rise of the Right." CSPAN will be recording the lecture for presentation on Book TV. Free and open to the public
Tuesday, April 15th* 7:00 p.m. Richard Cohen in the Carter Center's Cecil B. Day Chapel.
Cohen 's new book "Strong at the Broken Places" tells the remarkable story of five ordinary people trapped in the complex world of serious chronic illness. In this intimate portrait, Cohen probes lives of sickness as these individuals struggle to cope. Free and open to the public.
Thursday, April 17th* 7:00 p.m. Jay Allison in the Carter Library Theater
Independent radio producer Jay Allison, whose work is heard on NPR, presents "Stories from the Heart of the Land." These radio stories capture the human connection to land and landscape. Free and open to the public.
Friday, April 18th* 7:00 p.m. Herschel Walker in the Carter Museum Lobby.
Former Dallas Cowboys football player Herschel Walker signs copies of his new biography "Breaking Free." In order to reserve a place in the signing line, you must pre-purchase the book from A Cappella Books either at the store, on line or by phone. Tuesday, April 22nd * 7:00 p.m. Kevin Phillips in the Carter Library Theater.

An autographed copy of "A Remarkable Mother" is a perfect Mothers Day gift for the remarkable mother in your family. President Carter will only be signing copies of his books. Books by President Carter will be sold at the Carter Library gift shop. Free and open to the public.
