Evermore CID refunds $8,115 for Gwinnett County SPLOST sidewalk project
Park Place sidewalk project completed on schedule and under budget
STONE MOUNTAIN, GA (March 28, 2009) - The Evermore CID recently presented a refund check to Gwinnett County District Three Commissioner Mike Beaudreau. The $8,115 check represented the cost savings associated with the Park Place Sidewalk project that was completed on time and under budget.
Evermore CID Executive Director Brett Harrell presented the check to Commissioner Beaudreau at the monthly Board of Director's meeting. Commissioner Beaudreau, who regularly tours the Highway 78 corridor with Harrell to identify opportunities and track progress, was pleased to accept the check on behalf of Gwinnett County.
Commissioner Beaudreau expressed his gratitude for the outstanding successes that the Evermore CID continues to achieve under Harrell's leadership. Commissioner Beaudreau spoke of his hopes "that other Gwinnett CID's will follow this model and identify similar projects."
The Park Place Sidewalk project was made possible by a partnership between Gwinnett County and the Evermore CID utilizing SPLOST funds. The Park Place Sidewalk project, which was identified through citizen input, included 2,500 feet of five-foot wide sidewalk, street benches, decorative trash receptacles, painted pedestrian crossing signals, and Evermore sign toppers.
Evermore's Executive Director Brett Harrell is particularly gratified about the significance of this project. "With road construction completed in this area, the sidewalk project delivers another tangible result that helps establish a true sense of identity for Park Place", explains Harrell. "Completing the project under budget is also an important benefit as it clearly demonstrates the Evermore CID's commitment to be a responsible steward of all taxpayer's dollars".
