Entries Open For Georgia Four-Ball Tournament

MARIETTA, Ga. (January 21, 2010) – Entries are now being accepted for the 22nd annual Georgia Four-Ball Tournament, which takes place March 26-28 at Valdosta Country Club and Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta. This event is open to two-man teams of male amateur golfers of all ages who are GSGA members and Georgia residents, with combined USGA Handicap Indexes of 4.0 and above.

The format of the event is 54 holes of flighted, four-ball stroke play over three days. In last year’s event, Jack Benson of Dunwoody and Pete Malcolm of Duluth posted a birdie on the first hole of a sudden-death playoff to capture the rain-shortened 2009 Georgia Four-Ball Tournament. The duo posted rounds of 68 and 69 en route to claiming victory.

Qualified players must enter online at the GSGA website (www.gsga.org) by clicking the Online Registration quick link. A tournament information page is also available via download as a PDF file through the GSGA website. The deadline for entries is Wednesday, March 3 at 5:00 p.m.

The Georgia Four-Ball Tournament is the first GSGA-sanctioned event of the 2010 season.

Any questions regarding GSGA competitions may be directed to the Rules and Competitions Department at 770-955-4272 or 800-949-4742, or via email at info@gsga.org.
